Happy Father's Day

Today is Father's Day. My dad is in Chicago in a nursing home so I couldn't spend time with him, but I did call him. My brother was there with his family so that made me feel better, but it's hard not to be able to spend time with him on this day. It's such an odd feeling to go from being his little girl, to being a caretaker. So many people in my generation are dealing with this and it is heartbreaking. On the other hand, I'm thankful that I've had him in my life for so many Father's Days. And that my kids and grandkids have been able to know him.

So here's to you, Dad. Happy Father's Day!!

I will totally admit that that collection and journey of photos brought tears to my eyes. I think it's so special when daughter and fathers share a close bond. Be thankful for that blessing as not everyone is lucky enough to have that.

I love those early, early pictures...especially the ones on the car and at the pool!

It is amazing to see how you have both changed throughout the years.

I wish we could have seen Gramps yesterday too.
