What is wrong with this picture?!?!?

Actually, what is RIGHT with this picture!! Here is it - Monday morning. And I'm sitting in front of the computer, in sweats, drinking coffee and doing whatever I damn well please. It's called Retirement and this is my first day of it.

I'm quite sure it will take me some time to realize that I don't have to go in to work anymore. Even yesterday, a couple of times I got the "dang it, it's Sunday and I have to go to work tomorrow" knot in my stomach. Than I remembered! And Saturday morning I found myself mentally clicking off all the things I wanted to get done over the weekend. Then I remembered - this weekend is going to last for a very long time!

Since I'm doing some consulting at the hospital post-employment, I still have contact with all of them and it will help my transition from a 20-year employee to a "who was that person who used to be in that office" has-been. There is also some transition from being a Director who people payed attention to, to being - well- not sure what I am now!

But I've waited and planned for this day for so long and I'm relishing in every minute of it. I mean, really, I can go out and trim my rose bushes mid-day on Monday. What's not to like?!?!?

Your first day of retirement was also the first day of my parents' 42nd year of marriage. Is that right? It was their 41st anniversary, so they're starting their 42nd year...right? I am not good at math.
Wait, what am I doing asking a retired woman to think? I'm so sorry.
Congratulations and enjoy every second of it!
