Only in Italia

Last night we stayed in Verona which is primarily known for being the home of Romeo and Juliette. So this morning we walked to Juliette's balcony. And, of course, took photos along with 12 busloads of tourists! There is a statue of Juliette there and, according to some "male" legend, if you rub her left breast it will bring you luck. The left breast is totally shiny from all the fondling. When we got there, we were surrounded by a group of school children on a field trip. All the little boys (8-10 years old) were sidling up to the statue and rubbing her breast with huge grins on their faces. While their teachers took photos!

Ya gotta love Italy! I sure do!

Ciao for now. We're off to the train station and Venice.

That is too funny! I'm trying to imagine an American 3rd grade teacher taking pictures while all her male students fondled a statue's breast. Somehow, I'm thinking there would be 12 bus-loads of parent complaints after that field trip!

Gotta love those Italians!

In America, that is called "sexual harrassment" of a statue! LOL
