Bits and Pieces - nothing important

I'm really getting annoyed. When I fill in anything online and it asks for my birth year and it has a drop down list - I have to scroll down three times before I can find my year!! I'm surprised they don't have it in bigger font than the rest of them!

I hate it when I have to sneeze right after applying mascara. Never did master the trick of sneezing with my eyes open so I end up with a bunch of black dots below the bottom lashes which smear when I try to clean them off and I end up removing the mascara on the bottom lashes and starting all over again.

Ed is in hog heaven - he saw a commercial for "Neo To Go" which is a convenient little dispenser of spray on Neosporin which Ed is addicted to. His little eyes just lit up when we saw the commercial. Could be a stocking stuffer!

A few years ago Ed bought me a Garmin. We used the American/British voice and named her Beatrice. Very polite woman, that Beatrice is. When we don't go exactly the way she recommends, she calmly says, "recalculating" and finds a new route. Well, for my birthday this year Ed bought me a new Nuvi which is great because it's small and can easily fit in a purse or pocket. And it has a lot of voice choices. We chose Lee from Australia. Really enjoy the accent, but I've noticed that when we stray off his route, he's not so pleasant about it. He also says, "recalculating" but with a decidely annoyed and somewhat punitive tone of voice. Methinks Lee has flexibility issues.

Ed loves Angel Food Cake. And, since it's fairly low in calories, we bought one the other day. After dinner he cut himself a healthy slice right out of the plastic container and gently placed it on the plate. A little crumb fell on the floor (which is crumb-colored ceramic tile) so he scouted around with his toe until he found it and then picked it up and put it in the garbage. Alas, now he noticed a small crumb on the dishtowel so he carefully picked it up and disposed of it. Ed doesn't like crumbs. As he was putting the cover back on the cake the whole thing toppled on to the floor. Crumbs everywhere - on the countertop, on the floor, on his feet, on the little rug in front of the sink. Most of them blended in with the floor or the rug. He said a not-very-nice word and proceeded to clean up the mess. I slithered away into the living room so he wouldn't see me laughing.

And, final Ed story. Not only does he not like crumbs, he really hates to have spots on his clothes. He will change an entire outfit because of an almost invisible spot on his shirt or pants - whereas I will just hold my purse in a strategic way to hide the dang thing. So yesterday, as we left the office to go to Costco, he noticed a little whitish spot on the leg of his black pants. As I got in the car he was trying to brush or rub it off. No luck. He spit on his finger a little and went at the spot that way. It wouldn't come off. Oh, god, was it a permanent little bleach spot! What the heck had he done? He rubbed away for a couple of minutes and we were this close (put your thumb and fingertip really close together for a visual here) to going home so he could change. WTF, we were going to Costco! People there are much more interested in the 10-gallon peanut butter and the package of 28 glue sticks for $4.39 (which, by the way, I bought) then in the almost inperceptible spot on the front of his pants. Then we were miraculously saved. The light shifted and he discovered that it wasn't a spot after all, just a reflection from his side mirror. Crisis averted.

OMG! I so love this post!! I have been noticing that I have to scroll longer myself - oh and I have a little ditty about my TomTom on my blog - you can read it here.

Ed and the spot - holy crap. That is too much!! Hysterical!

I have missed my dose of ED! I love ED. And I don't know what a Garmin or gramin thing is...is it some sort of GPS system for the car? I am an idiot.
Not only does it suck to put on mascara and then have to sneeze...I usually smudge the mascara and pee my pants! yep I do! :)N

Sounds like Ed and I are related, with the crumb-and-spot-issues we both carry around with us!
Does your GPS come with a German voice, too?

I am laughing so hard about the Garmin. I know exactly what you mean about the not-so-pleasant tone of 'recalculating'!

Ever seen that commercial where the "spot" on the guy's shirt is SCREAMING OUTLOUD!! LMAO!

I switched to the British voice on my Garmin my brother gave me. :-)

Poor Ed... However, he sounds like a "good sport!" Tell him that they also have Neosporin on some kinds of Band-Aids. I was the Neosporin "Queen" when my wrist was in the external fixator and I had the open wounds.

OxiClean® Spray-A-Way might be another stocking stuffer. I saw it at Big Lots for $2.50. :-)

This past Spring I drove some blind friends down to Padre and they thought it would be neat to have a GPS guide us to our destination. By the end of our road trip I was ready to thrown the darn thing out!!!! The pocket one does sound nice, though. Love the part where you strategically place your purse to hide stains! I've been known to do the same thing at time.
