Roll that time back

Today is one of my favorite days of the year. The day when whoever invented Daylight Savings Time gives me back a whole hour! I'm not one to reset the clocks before going to bed. Oh, no, that would spoil all the fun. The best part is getting up at 7:30, and going around the house making it only 6:30!

My first year here, I remember that on time change day it was raining outside and there was a Twilight Zone marathon on one of the cable channels. I was at home alone that day and had the tv turned to Twilight Zone in every room so I could watch it while I puttered. That will go down in history as one of my best days!

Growing up in Arizona we didn't have Daylight Savings Time. We tried it once, but it didn't seem to serve any purpose so the state gave it up after a couple of years. My first experience with it was when we moved to Denver. I hated it! In the summer the dang sun didn't go down until 9:30pm and my kids' bedroom faced the West. So I had to get black out shades and then put cut-up cardboard boxes in the windows to block out the sunlight that peeked around the sides of the shades. If it was light outside, they wouldn't go to sleep. Drove me nuts.

I still have trouble in March when the time moves one hour forward. My body knows it's getting up an hour earlier no matter what the clock says.

Yup, hands down this is a great day. And it's still only 7:30am!!

i wish they would just leave the clocks alone...period.

like you, i used to love to leave the clocks where they were, at least for the first day, so i could relish the extra hour. now my hubby, changes them right away, as he did this morning at 6 a.m. of course, it's such a minor thing, i won't bother to mention it.

An extra hour is nice, but it always messes with my body clock. Indiana didn't have DST until just a few years ago but I was used to it when I lived in California.

Enjoy your extra hour today!

Hmmm, I do like getting the hour back but I'm with DD--I hate that it gets dark so early. I wish there was another way. I still havent' changed all my clocks either. Just posted a blog 'bout the change in time. Usually, I enjoy falling back in time but for some reason this season, I am dragging!
