A grandmother is a mother who has a second chance

And then there were 13 !

When Ed and I got married, we had five grown children between us and he had two grandsons. Then his youngest son had two boys. Then his daughter, my daughter and my son married people who had children so the number jumped to 8. Then my daughter adopted her two incredible children from Russia (10), my son had his first (11), and last week Ed's daughter gave birth to twins (13) !!

I must admit, being around Wendy during these first few days brought back so many wonderful memories of my own twins over 35 years ago! Back when I had the energy to deal with two brand new babies!

These will probably be the last in our long line of grandkids. I need to buy three more Christmas stockings for our wall this year. And, hopefully, we'll have all 13 of them here at Thanksgiving (with their parents, of course). What a great group shot that will be.

So, say welcome to Faith and Jacob. 5 days old. And the proud grandparents (and mom).
