You know who you are...

There's a song I've been hearing on my country station that always affects me. I don't know the exact name of it, but the main chorus goes like this:

You find out who your friends are
Someone who's gonna drop everything
Run out and crank up their car
Hit the gas, get there fast,
Never stop to think "What's in it for me?"
Or "It's way too far"
They just show on up
With a big ole' heart
You find out who your friends are

It's about knowing who you can count on - both while you're on the top and while you're sliding down the hill.

Yes, the grammar isn't great. Yes, it's a bit hokey. But I always find myself smiling and thinking about the people in my life who have been there for me in difficult times, and who I know I could count on right now if I needed help.

Most of us have these people in our lives and how lucky we are to have them. I only hope that they all know I would also be that kind of friend for them.

I think the song is called, "Find Out Who your Friends Are."

I'm not a huge fan of the song, but the sentiments are nice. And so true.
