Ed does it again

We're having a family BBQ today (read 25 people!!) and the morning has been a flurry of activity getting things ready. Ed turns into a Tasmanian Devil at times like these trying to get as much done as possible in the shortest amount of time. Today was no exception. He had the lawn cut, the paper read, the chicken marinating, and taken a trip to Safeway for a few last minute things before 9:00 am! I, on the other hand, was still sipping my coffee and surveying the tasks to determine what to do first.

When he returned from Safeway he set out to make room in the refrigerator in the garage and fill the ice chest with ice and drinks. Then he came in the house to tell me something. He was standing at the entrance to the kitchen and I was merrily balling melon (stop it! you know what I mean!). He said something about something (I don't always listen to him) and suddenly he jumped about a foot in the air and began swatting the back of his neck.

Apparently during the straighten-the-refrigerator challenge he had turned his baseball cap around so the bill was in the back. When he was standing there talking to me, he looked up at something, the bill of the cap brushed his neck, and he thought something was crawling on him! There was definitely some pee-in-your-pants laughter going on - at least on my part. He just flipped the cap around, said something about it not being THAT funny, and went back to his garage duties.

If it's any consolation to Ed, I've jumped out of my skin much in the same manner. I hope the cookout went well and you had lots of fun!

I love Ed! I laugh every time my husband stubs a toe, trips on something, bangs his had accidentily on the wall, you name it. His reaction is one of someone being shot, stabbed or burned to death with an iron! I laugh every time. He thinks I am a sadist and I think he is a major over reactor...though I hate bugs, I over react to those little things crawling on me! :)N
