Turkey to Apples
Ed takes these photos with his tripod and the best part is watching him run into his spot while the little light on the timer is blinking. Often the photo includes a shot of his back! Or him frantically climbing over people and furniture trying to get in position. Those are my favorite shots.
Friday we managed to get all the Fall/Thanksgiving decorations down, and the Christmas stuff put up. I had rammed my toe on Ed's foot Thursday and it was very red, swollen, and hurt like hell. Since I couldn't put shoes on or leave the house, it was a great day to get all that stuff done. I limped along merrily as I hung stockings and draped garland. And put all my red silk poinsettas around the house. Jenni hates my red poinsettas. I love them. Today we finished decorating the tree and my plunger is in it's proper place. Outside lights may have to wait until next weekend.
Tomorrow we head to New York City for a few days. We went there a few years ago and loved it. This is the first time in 5 years that we haven't visited my dad in Chicago the week after Thanksgiving. Last year we had his memorial the first weekend in December. So this year we decided to see NYC all done for the holidays. And I can't wait. We got tickets Wednesday to see the Rockettes Holiday Show and the tree lighting at Rockefeller Center is also that night. Of course, with 1.5 million people expected to be there, we may not actually get to see them light the tree. But we can go back the next night and see it.
Weather will be cold and we Californians don't have much in the way of winter gear. Ed bought some earmuffs (I'll definitely be posting a picture of that!) and I managed to find the lining for my coat. Maybe all those people will help keep us warm! Does it work that way?
