two plus four, minus ten, carry the one......

Heard on the news this morning that gas prices EVEN IN CALIFORNIA are below $2.00/gallon in some places. Not where I live, of course. But in some towns in the Bay Area. The News Team found a station about 45 minutes north of us with regular gas for $1.75/gallon!

Then they proceeded to interview a man who said he will drive around for 20 minutes looking for the cheapest gas! Excuse me?!?!? Let's see, driving for 20 minutes uses at least one gallon. That's $1.75. My tank holds 12 gallons when on empty and the next lowest gas price is $1.85. Where is that abacus? Oh, yes, that would be 10 cents savings per gallon. Total savings $1.20.

Total additional cost to me for driving around - 55 cents! The joy of being on tv and describing the lame plan - priceless.

i've been watching the gas prices fall with a leery eye. its become like a wicked game with the gas industry.

as for driving around to find cheaper gas prices. that's just plain dumb.

Here in South Jersey - $1.68/gal for regular 87 octane... PLUS - we don't pump our own gas here... it is against the law! SWEET...

Here's my gas story for the week...
there's the old gas station that is "pay by cash" and the past week gas was $1.59, which is great but who nowadays has the extra $$ in their wallet for a tank of gas? Finally, yesterday I stop at the bank and get the cash and rush over to station and the gas is now $1.65. Well by then, I was on fumes and didn't want to drive around wasting any more gas so I filled up. ONLY to drive down the read to the two other stations who lowered their price to $1.59! I was soooooo MAD!!!!

I always buy gas at the same station. And we're at $1.64 as of yesterday. Wow!
