I just love Times Square!!
Well, here we are in New York City! Our flight was uneventful until the end. Then we had to be in a holding pattern for an hour before we could land. And for that hour we had to stay in our seats with seat belts buckled. Luckily we had both made a trip to the restroom right before this. However, I now know why my grandfather called grapes "pisha freet" (totally phonetic, I have no idea what the actual words are). But that was how he always referred to grapes because, as he said, "you eatta dem and you hava to go pee." So apparently it means peeing fruit. We had a big Costco carton o'grapes and decided to take them with us rather than leaving them home for a week to rot. They tasted great - especially since you don't get anything to eat on the planes anymore. And, boy, did they work their magic. Getting off the plane and safely in an airport bathroom was our only goal!
Took a airporter bus to Grand Central Station and then walked to our hotel. It would have been nice if we had turned the correct way right off the start. But a little detour never hurt anyone. Who cares if it's 40 degrees and starting to drizzle and our legs are stiff from sitting all day and it's dark and we're tired?
But we made it to the hotel, checked in, unpacked, and went to an Italian restaurant that we had been to the last time we were here. Now we're just relaxing in the hotel before getting some much-needed sleep so we can be ready to go tomorrow.
And, on Wednesday we get to have lunch with Namaste from With My Whole Heart. Very much looking forward to that!

Nice to be in the Big Apple during the holidays! There's nothing like Christmas in NYC! Magical!
I guess the first word from your grandfather's saying was "piscia", which is, of course, pee in Italian.
